January 12, 2013 (Fog)

Elizabeth and I hit the Mount Vernon trail over the weekend for some warm-up training. It was eerily gorgeous.

January 5, 2013 (Erik)

I babysat for Erik on Saturday afternoon while Ben and Steph went out and about in the city. He's irresistibly cute.

December 30, 2010 (Lucky Bean Soup)

It's a southern tradition. Black eye peas (representing humility and good fortune), collard greens (money) and ham (fat, representing plentiful happiness) mean luck for the new year. We bougie'd it up by adding bacon, veal broth, parsnips and lentils (both round, representing coins and wealth). Baked brie and round crackers to start (luck and coming full circle), and wine. Wine representing nothing, except wine. Because, obviously.

Here is to a lucky 2013, y'all.
